Did you see it coming? I would say this is the most anticipated product that I have been waiting for in these few years. This piece of exciting news just arrived after 10 months since Google Chrome Web Browser was released last year.
Most of the Operating System (OS) we are using today were designed and development prior to the Internet era. Google Development Team realizes this and is aiming to produce an OS for people who are relying on the web (Btw, who doesn’t?). Besides, they are also smart enough to sense that netbook is the new trend right now. Therefore, Google Chrome Operating System is designed for the web and will be initially used on netbook.
Below are some highlights of Google Chrome Operating System :-
Open source – Like many of the Unix-based OS, it offers accessibility to its source code
Lightweight – Less complicated, fast and easy to use
Runs on x86 Computer Architecture – Meaning it runs on the same PC you are running Windows, Mac, Linux, etc, as well
n case you still have not noticed, Google had entered the web browser market by releasing their first ever web browser, Google Chrome, yesterday.
I’m always excited whenever Google launches any software, therefore I’ve installed Google Chrome immediately after reading this fascinating news yesterday even though the software is still under Beta version.
Well, what makes Google Chrome different from other web browsers?
Let me list out Google Chrome’s features that other traditional browsers don’t have :-
1. Ability to process each browsing tab on its own
Such feature could significantly prevent one tab from crashing another. For browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox, there is a tendency the whole browser will crash just because of one memory-hogging bug on one website. You won’t see such crashing happens to Google Chrome. In fact, you can even use its own built-in Task Manager to kill the misbehaving tab individually when you need to.
2. Better memory management
When a browsing tab is closed in Google Chrome, the whole process is ended. As simple as that! There won’t be any used memory left uncollected by the Operating System. In other words, no memory will be wasted when you run Google Chrome.
3. Incognito Browsing
This is another cool feature that I love.
While you are in incognito browsing mode, websites that you surf or files downloaded won’t be recorded in your browsing and download histories. Besides, all new cookies will be deleted the incognito window is closed.
In short, Incognito Browsing leaves no trace to where you browse.
4. Create Application Shortcut
No, not create an application shortcut of Google Chrome in your Windows.
In Google Chrome, there is a feature where you can create a shortcut of a website and save it to either Desktop, Start Menu and Quick Launch Bar. Yes, only 3 locations available at the moment. These shortcuts will run Google Chrome and open the website, even Google Chrome is not the default web browser.
Here are all 10 main features of Google Chrome :-
Secure – The security architecture of the OS was completely redesigned so that it’s virus, malware and security update free
The OS is scheduled to be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. I just can’t wait to see it!

I wouldn't say Google Chrome is in beta version! Release 3.0 was shipped weeks ago...
i love gooogle.. big fans.. but chrome is not live up to google standar.. still way behind firefox.. a lot of things, doesn't display correctly when rendering in chrome... as a web programmer, i feel chrome is second worst (the worst browser of course, every one know, i don't have to mention here).. the speed is excellent, but with many bugs in display, i think many version enhancement will be required until i move from firefox to chrome
1. Firefox
2. Safari
3. Chrome
4. Other browser's that are not develop from the 90's
5. Last, You know, i know lah.. such a shame to mention it here
Its exciting yes but an OS is nowadays essentially just a bunch of device drivers and a scheduler. The really exciting stuff is all happening out in "the cloud" (i hate that term but i don't have a better one). Why Google would want to get involved in that space is anyone's guess. Maybe they just want to slap Microsoft hard in the face. It seems like a counter-intuitive move to me.
Waitin' the New OS
i really wanna get out of windows
I'm palpitated with waiting for this new OS, we're independent on Windows for a long time, and this is a change to say good bye with Bill.
Hey, all the features mentioned here are present in IE 8 and if I'm not forgetting IE was the first browser that made your browsing more secure and speedy after Netscape, as this was not so good at all......lol at you all who don't want to aknowledge the hard works of Microsoft through all this time......
And about the Chrome OS it doen't contains any such features which can move away Windows from its peak position....lol at you again
i can't waot
thanx a lot buddy
